Senior SOA Middleware Consultant

Position Summary

As a Senior Oracle Middleware Engineer, you will be part of a global team that is responsible for the implementation, support, and operations of the Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle Cloud and Integration Platform technology stacks and related customer environments. The role of the Senior Middleware Engineer requires the expertise and skills to debug, correctly diagnose and resolve issues for complex, integrated platforms in a timely manner. The position also has the responsibility for researching, providing root cause analysis and support of architectural and performance related improvements for multiple Oracle technology platforms.

Position Responsibilities

  •   Lead and participate in projects such as design, integration, installation, upgrade and migration of Oracle Fusion Middleware/Oracle Cloud applications and non-oracle products on Linux and Windows environments
  •   Lead and support Data Intensity customers’ 24x7 production instances and maintain customer environments for high availability, disaster recovery, and optimal performance
  •   Create and maintain the technical knowledge base and standard operation procedures
  •   Provide technical guidance and cross-training for team members and assist with training materials
  •   Provide root cause analysis, fix resolution, implementation support, and continuous process improvement
  •   Create and maintain automation tools such as startup/shutdown scripts, monitoring/performance tools, diagnostic tools and health check reports
  •   Track Oracle patches and security updates to determine how it impacts existing deployed infrastructure
  •   Ability to understand complex Middleware implementations and resolve defects and develop enhancements
  •   Resolve complex or previously unknown issues, requiring expert technical knowledge and business acumen
  •   Establish and apply best practices, to ensure successful implementation of solution designs through collaborative project team communication, planning documentation, system testing, and defect resolution
  •   Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple environments effectively and account for differences
  •   Perform ongoing performance tuning, infrastructure upgrades and system resource optimization

Required Experience and Skills

  •   5+ years of experience in Oracle Fusion Middleware implementation or integration, including WebLogic, Oracle SOA Suite (B2B, BPM, BPEL, ESB, OSB, AIA) or Oracle Agile PLM
  •   Strong knowledge in working with Web services and API technologies (REST, XML/JSON, SOAP, WSDL, XSD/XSLT), including domain microservices
  •   Demonstrable history of conceptualizing, architecting/designing, implementing and supporting complex new and already implemented Oracle Technology products based solutions
  •   Expert knowledge of WebLogic, Oracle Fusion Middleware, and associated UNIX Administration
  •   Programming experience using core Java and J2EE, REST API, ADF, Spring, SOA/BPM, Linux/Unix Shell Script
  •   Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  •   Ability to work under pressure with conflicting priorities and fluctuating operational workload
  •   Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands
  •   Superb trouble-shooting skills and tenacity in problem solving

Desired Qualifications

  •   Experience application performance tuning, including analysis of thread/core dumps, JVM heap size, load balancing, disaster recovery and clustering
  •   Solid understanding of cloud integration architecture, including implementation experience with integration platforms such as MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, Oracle Integration Cloud
  •   Experience deploying and configuring Oracle Identity and Access Management suite, including Oracle OAM, OIM, OID, and SSO
  •   Experience architecting, designing, and implementing solutions on Oracle Cloud and Amazon AWS platforms (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
  •   Competency in automating routine WebLogic admin tasks using scripting languages like WLST, Python, Perl, or equivalent tools
  •   Programming competency using SQL and PL/SQL in tuning and optimizing complex database queries
  •   Proficient working with relational databases (Oracle/SQL) including NoSQL technologies like MongoDB
  •   Ability to provide exceptional service and quality to external customers and internal teams
  •   Proven expertise in major incident management, based on ITIL principles and practices
  •   Exposure and familiarity with Agile development and project methodology process

Education and Other Qualifications

  •   Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline required
