Oracle Project Manager
Location: Bedford, MA
Description:
A fast growing database and application managed service provider is looking for an Oracle Project Manager. In this position you will be required to provide leadership in the management and implementation of Oracle application projects and ensure the project goals, resources, and timelines of the project is met. The Oracle Project Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the project including Applications Development and technical infrastructure. You will communicate to existing customers the process and steps that will be taken during the project by providing documentation, timelines, and updates as seen fit.
Responsibilities:
- Assist manager of Oracle Operations to scope work based on requirements
- Assist manager of Oracle Operations to prepare overall project plan
- Manage all aspects of Oracle implementation project including system analysis, development, test, installation and delivery
- Develop and monitor progress against project plans
- Lead project status meetings with team
- Identify, resolve, and escalate issues and manage resolution
- Manage all project development efforts using internal, external and off-shore resources as required
- Manage customer and third party contracts as needed; ensuring projects meet established time, cost,
contractual and proficiency in methodologies including development life cycle and project management
- Ensure overall success of the project inclusive of functional application setup and post production support
Required Skills/Experience:
- Must be able to establish relationships, manage conflicts, analyze information, communicate, listen, and negotiate
- Must be self motivated, eager to learn and grow
- Willing to travel both domestic and international
- BS in IT or equivalent experience, Masters preferred
- Managed a minimum of 3 full lifecycle implementations of Oracle Applications (11.5.x preferred)
- Technical understanding of application development and technical infrastructure of an Oracle 11.5.x ERP environment, with implementation experience
- Strong knowledge of inter-relationships between Oracle Applications modules(ERP)
- Excellent project management skills
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft and other project management tools, as well as written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills at all levels of the organization
Senior-Level PeopleSoft DBA
Location: Bedford, MA
Description:
We're currently seeking several senior-level PeopleSoft Database Administrators. These senior-level positions are responsible for the design, installation, administration, maintenance and implementation of the PeopleSoft Internet Architecture. We have requirements to support PeopleSoft on various database platforms including Oracle, Microsoft SQL, and IBM DB2/UDB databases. In this role, you will act as a primary support contact to application owners and support personnel, project teams, and others on issues related to databases and applications technology stacks. Specific responsibilities include:
- Day-to-day operation of databases and applications environments (production and development)
- 24/7 monitoring of external customers through the use of world-class
monitoring systems and customized scripts
- Pro-active checks to ensure database and system health
- Providing support for customer issues through the use of our web-based ticketing system
- Advice management on applications implementations, upgrades and general maintenance
- System refreshes and applications instance cloning
- Application Server Domain creation and configuration
- Process Scheduler configuration
- Web server configuration
- Knowledge about Application Designer
- Knowledge about tracing SQL's for nVision, SQR, Cobol and Application
- Engine programs/reports
- Tools Upgrade
- Service Pack Upgrades
- Migrating projects using Application Designer
- Reviewing compare reports
- Applying PeopleSoft patches/Tax Update
- Database and system issues troubleshooting and working with applications support vendors
- Administering database users, permissions, and database security
- Managing applications security and data access privileges, including password maintenance
- Ensuring recoverability by implementing, monitoring, and maintaining database backups
- Proactive management of database and file systems for growth of tables, indexes and log files
- Unix administration
- Microsoft NT administration
Required Skills/Experience:
- A minimum of 10 years experience in database administration,
design and support and 5+ years experience with PeopleSoft (V7.X,
8.X)
- A minimum of 5 years experience with Sun Solaris and HP-UX and/or
Microsoft NT Server
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or related
- Expert knowledge of PL/SQL (stored procedures, triggers) and/or TRANSACT-SQL
- A solid understanding of design principles (physical and logical)
and architecture, and knowledge of programming tasks through HTML,
JavaScript, Shell scripts, CGI or Java is preferred
- Must have excellent written and communication skills and be team
oriented
Applications Database Administrator
Location: Bedford, MA
FT; Design, install, administer, maintain and implement the data architecture,
database systems and middle-tier applications required to support Oracle
Applications versions 10.7 to 12i and future releases. Bachelor or foreign
equivalent in Electronic Engineering or Computer Applications and 5 years
progressive experience as an Oracle Applications DBA. Oracle Applications 10.7
through R12 on both UNIX and Windows experience, strong knowledge of UNIX,
experience with platform migrations including Windows reqd.
